ShotMind 0.2.x: from local videos to a searchable shot library

June 18, 2026 · 3 min read

ShotMind 0.2.x is focused on one practical loop: take local video material, turn it into shot-level clips, analyze the clips you choose, then find exact visuals by natural language.

What is available now

The current public product is the macOS desktop app. It is built for creators who work with live action, animation, product video, game capture, UI motion, and AI-generated video.

The website explains the workflow, pricing, privacy boundaries, support paths, and current product limits.

The current workflow

Import local videos, let ShotMind split them into shots, choose which shot clips are worth AI analysis, and then search the analyzed library by visible details.

  • Full source videos stay on your computer.
  • Selected shot clips are temporarily sent to cloud AI for analysis.
  • Analysis results and necessary metadata are used for search and management.

What comes next

The next content work is focused on clearer onboarding, more workflow guides, and practical examples for video asset management, B-roll organization, AI video references, and automatic video tagging.
